Directory of local services

In addition to the amenities provided by Rocky Shore Lodge, there are many resources in the vicinity that can meet some of your other needs. We have listed our favorites below.

(Click on the photos for more information.)

This place is a great detour (only 4 km out of the way) en route to Rocky Shore Lodge from the south. It's a Shell station and convenience store with an attached sport shop and gift shop.

Located at 110 Armstrong Street, Vermilion Bay, ON, P0V 2V0, on the left (south) side of 17,  2 km west of 105.

A great little general store with very nice owners, they carry a collection of souvenirs, tackle, groceries, and adult beverages. They also have fuel on site and are open seven days a week from 7am to 7pm during the season.

Rikki (Dutchies) has a new service for folks to consider if you ever decide I'm tired of lugging all my food up to the cabin. If you would like to ease that hassle Dutchies now has a new grocery supplier out of Thunder Bay so Rikki can get anything and everything at a much better price point then Ear Falls. It might be a tad pricier than Wal-Mart in Dryden.

If you would like you may preorder groceries, beer, and booze from Dutchies and she will have it here waiting for your arrival. Dutchies is locally woman owned and they know good customer service not like a chain or franchise who could care less how their trip was, how they have been, how’s the family.

Lorrie is back for another season and Trysta will be helping out from time to time so stop in and say Hello.

Located just up the road at 59 ON-105, Perrault Falls, ON P0V 2K0, Canada

Whiskey Jack is a favorite hangout for many of our guests when they just don't feel like cooking after a long day on the water. The food is good and the beer is cold. They even have live music once in a while!

Area Churches

For your worship needs, (and be honest, what fisherman wouldn't benefit from God on his side?) the best selection can be found in Dryden a little over an hour south of the Lodge. Click the small map on the left for a larger map showing the various churches in the area.

Catholic Church

For those of us fortunate enough to be practicing Catholics (like Mike and Steve), the Sunday trip to worship is a little shorter. Visit St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church located at 36 McCallum, Ear Falls by 1pm on Sunday for Mass. You can call 807-222-3721 for more information.

A popular stop for our guests driving in from the south is the Walmart in Dryden. Stop here to stock up on groceries, snacks, and other supplies before continuing on to the fastest week of the year!
