WEEK 11 WRAP-UP!

Updated: Aug 10

Good afternoon Rocky Shore Lodge week 11 blog.  With bear season taking up a lot of time I realize this blog is later than normal.  Super busy week with a lot of private boats!   I’m still not sure how we accommodated them all, but we shoehorned 12 private boats on the docks.

The hottest week of the year without a doubt, and the sun was blazing most of the week.  It’s cooled back down now to near normal temps thank goodness.  I know I shouldn’t complain about the 80 plus temps knowing everyone up that week was escaping the 90’s and some 100’s but were not acclimated up here to those temps.

Charlie and the Penthouse 2 crew finished a very nice spacious and new shore lunch site on Little Hatfield Island.  Their contribution to the lake and as he said those prior shore lunch spots didn’t build themselves and someone took the time to build them.  Last year they rehabbed the shore lunch spot near Cedar Island also.

Walleyes were biting better in the morning and evening as the big ball in the sky was bright.  Frank and his two friends I’ll call them J n J since I still can’t remember their names caught over 600 walleyes for the week.  Although the bite slowed down during the day patience paid off and anglers were rewarded.  Water temps approached 75.  We had some beautiful 29’s again this week.

Muskies were boated often this week as there were several boats targeting them and they were all watching the lunar tables to ensure they were casting during peak periods.

Perch and bass were caught in the heat of the summer and lots were taken across the border for family fish fries!

If you are interested at all in a one day flyout we do offer them through Clarks. Perry and the P1 gang went out and boated and released over 150 walleyes on Monday.

Week 11 Monster Fish Tournament results:

Good morning everyone and photos have been received so let's get to it!

Aiden from C-5 pulled in a 4.75-Inch Small mouth bass which I believe might be the smallest micro of the year.

Jay from C-4 has been yanking some huge walleyes already this week folks. I asked Josh where the horseshoe is hidden with no answer. He boated and released a beautiful 27.25-Inch Walleye during the tournament.

We have a musky hunter who won the Northern/Musky contest. Max from P-2 boated a heavy 45-Inch Musky along with 3 other muskies. His best day musky hunting according to him. Great job everyone!

Bear Baiting is full on as I type this and we already have most of the baits being hit with some decent bears but that's for another week. All for now everyone!

Don’t forget to send pictures!

Tight Lines everyone!
