WEEK 8 WRAP-UP!

Week 8 was here and gone and we had quite a few new guests this week.

The weather was beautiful as usual, but we’re looking for more precipitation.

We had quite a few young anglers running around camp this week, and the beach house turned into game night quite a bit.  Two of the youngsters held two bingo nights and we all had a great time while they ran their bingo hall.  They also had numerous games out and it seemed the Cabin 1 and 2 families took full advantage of what the Beach house has to offer.  It was nice to see, and there was a lot of laughter coming from there.

As most of you know we at RSL don’t shy away from keeping everyone informed.  With that said the Walleye bite was slow.  After speaking with some of the other camp owners we agreed there was a fairly significant may fly hatch which is quite unusual for us up here.  We believe it affected the walleye bite.  Although rare it does happen from time to time, and it made for some challenging walleye hunts.  We had lots of fish brought in of the other varieties.  Nature has a funny way of reminding us who really is in charge.

I have been asked several times about bringing groceries and what kind of restrictions there are at the border.  As of today, there are no restrictions on groceries.  Liquor and tobacco notwithstanding.

MFT results for July 6: We had a 3-way tie with 6-inch bass for the micro fish prize.  Terry, Shannon, and Eli all caught a 6-inch small mouth bass.  Ken boated and released a 26-inch Walleye, and Sonny caught a 24-inch Pike to claim the Pike/Musky hat!  No picture of the pike but it was measured before it was cleaned.  Congratulations to all the anglers!

We have a trail cam on the driveway and got a nice photo of a lynx.
